Netflix’s rating system last underwent a change five years ago and now, it’s rolling out a double thumbs up or super like for shows viewers really love…
Netflix is making more changes to its streaming service. Following its most recent price hike and a new effort to crack down on password sharing, the media giant is also modifying its rating system, which it lasts overhauled five years ago in 2017. The new rating option will provide a third choice and is currently rolling out to all subscribers.
Netflix Introduces New Super Like or Double Thumbs Up Rating for Shows
Netflix now offers viewers a new way to rate shows they really love with a new double thumbs up or a “super like.” This will help the streamer better train its AI to fine-tune recommendations. When selected, it should surface more shows featuring the actor or from the same production company. So, subscribers will have to hunt less through the plethora of titles to find something else they would enjoy.
Right now, the new double thumbs up or super like only applies to shows and not movies. Although, it wouldn’t be surprising if the company added it to films sometime in the not too distant future. Doing so would provide even more feedback to the streaming service so it can better deliver thematically aligned content.
