Instagram started experimenting with hiding Likes on its platform months ago and even expanded the test globally but there’s a way around it…
Popular photo and video sharing site Instagram began concealing likes months ago as a test. It went so well, the Facebook subsidiary subsequently rolled it out worldwide just a few weeks ago. Obviously, not everyone is happy with the move, even though Instagram insists making people feel better is the entire reason behind hiding Likes.
New Browser Extension Unhides Instagram Likes
Here’s some good news for Instagram users who want to again see Like counts — a new browser extension by Socialinsider called “The Return of the Likes.”
Of course, there’s a small catch. Being a browser extension, it only works on the web, through a desktop or laptop. So, it won’t unhide likes within the mobile app. But, it’s enough to give people a look at what Instagram now conceals.
Here’s the developer’s description of the extension that unhides Instagram Likes:
“Instagram has removed the ability to view the likes and comments counts. We make them available again.
Instagram has stopped displaying the number of likes and comments in some areas – that makes the life of a Social Media person very complicated so we thought about lending a hand.
The extension displays the number of likes and comments for any post on Instagram.”
