New Facebook status update background color options now appear in Android mobile version 127.0.0.22.69 and desktop. There are seven new option to choose from, along with those the status update background colors the social network added in December of last year.
New Facebook Status Update Background Colors Now Available
Facebook now gives its 1.94 billion users the ability to dress-up their status updates with even more background colors and styles. Below is a screenshot of the desktop version:
The social network also includes these new status update background color style options on its native Android mobile app:
The first option — pink cats:
The second option — various shapes against a blue background:
The third option — different glasses over a green background:
The fourth option — orange leaves:
The fifth option — cake slices against a red background:
The sixth option — a light blue background with a bird in the foreground:
The seventh option — another blue background, with scattered shapes:
In recent months, Facebook has introduced a number of user interface changes to increase declining original, organic content sharing. The social network continues to fight what it calls, “context collapse,” a decline in personal updates. Back in March the social platform launched a CTA or call-to-action, encouraging its users with a “Try It Now” prompt.
In April, a new “Highlights From This Week” feature appeared. At this time, there is no word about these new status update background color options on the official blog.
Just last week, the company introduced Facebook Live closed captions for increased accessibility. The social network continues to dominate its competition, substantially outperforming its rivals in market share and new users.
