Google Photos is beginning to introduce new sharing tools. Over the coming week, Google Photos will roll out major new sharing options. Chief among these is a dedicated “sharing” tab, which appears at the bottom of the mobile native app.

New Google Photos Sharing Options Now Coming Online

“We take lots of photos and videos with the important people in our lives, but sharing those memories can take time. We get busy and forget. To help you share and receive more of the meaningful moments in your life, we’re rolling out suggested sharing and shared libraries this week,” James Gallagher, Engineering Director of Google Photos wrote.

The new sharing features work through facial recognition. For instance, suggested sharing employs machine learning, automatically identifying photos to suggest recipients. Sharing through this option is done with a single tap.

The Photo’s sharing tab will also display a feed of all images and albums already shared between users, making it easier to know which are shared. Additionally, Google Photos now includes an automatic share option. So, one user can opt to share their images automatically with others, without having to send them individually. This feature is probably intended for parents, making it possible to auto-send pictures of children to spouses.

Shared libraries also debut this week. This feature is lets users to share libraries with others, also likely intended for parents and couples.

“With suggested sharing and shared libraries—rolling out now across AndroidiOS, and web— it’s fast and easy to give and get the photos you care about, so you can spend less time sharing your memories, and more time enjoying them.”

Recently, Google celebrated Father’s Day with a movie.
