Netflix continues to tweak its television interface to make more content discoverable, and now surfaces a newly created New and Popular tab…
Streaming, being more popular than ever, offers all sorts of content. So much, it’s very difficult to hone in on something different and interesting. Recently, Google rebranded its Play Movies and Television to just Google TV. With it came a number of changes, including more prominently listing popular content across third-party subscription services, including Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Netflix, and many more.
New Netflix New and Popular Tab Debuts
Now, Netflix is doing something similar — at least for its own library. Given the service’s catalog includes literally thousands and thousands of movies and television shows at a time, it’s a necessary move. The new tab, labeled “New & Popular,” will group together the Coming Soon row, along with the Top 10 row (which debuted back in February and is updated daily). Plus, it will also include a new row, Worth the Wait, that gives subscribers previews of content coming in the next 15 to 365 days.
Speaking of Worth the Wait, this section is quite important because it gives viewers a way to save and set reminders. This could potentially keep people from cancelling, which could help the streaming service maintain its number one title in the industry.
