Netflix Rolls Out a Screen Lock Feature to Prevent Accidental Pauses, Skips, and Other Mistakes

Netflix has added a screen lock tool to help people prevent mistakenly pressing pause or skip, for its Android mobile app…

The ease of which to access entertainment or educational material in today’s world is truly astounding. Streaming gives anyone the ability to watch television shows, movies, documentaries, and more, at home or on-the-go. But, with the convenience comes a few problems. Namely, accidental playback control function manipulation. Fortunately, Netflix now has a solution to prevent such irritating circumstances.

New Netflix Screen Lock Option Goes Live

There’s a new Netflix screen look feature for Android which helps prevent accidental pauses and skips, according to 9to5Google. When a viewer starts playback, a new screen lock option appears, allowing him or her to effectively disable “Play/Pause” buttons. It can easily be undone with a quick “unlock” option, activated by tapping twice.

However, it doesn’t entirely lock down all system playback controls. For instance, it does not disable Android system gestures like swiping to rewind or go back. So, it won’t totally prevent all accidental commands. Although, it does suffice to maintain a content stream in at least a few ways.
