New Pinterest Product Pins, Shopping Recommendations Rolling Out
The new product pins include current prices and also tell users if items are in stock or unavailable. A new shopping icon indicates the item is presently available. Users can tap on the button to purchase the product or to see more information about it.
Also, beneath the Style and Home pins, there is a new shopping recommendations section. This makes it easier for people to discover different products they might be interested in, as well.
The new Pinterest product pins will replace the old “buyable pins” format. The company has already tested these new functions during the past quarter. The experiment resulted in a 40 percent increase in product clicks.
Pinterest hit 250 million MAUs or active monthly users back in September. There are now over 175 billion ideas for Pinners and newcomers to discover. That represents a whopping increase of 75 since last year. There are also 1.5 million active businesses on Pinterest.
