YouTube is replacing its Trending tab with a new Explore tab to help users find interesting content and assist creators with boosting their presence…
Video hosting site YouTube is now releasing an update that makes a significant change to its mobile apps for Android and iOS. It replaces one of the most popular, most visited sections of the mobile interface.
New YouTube ‘Explore’ Tab Replaces ‘Trending’ on Mobile Apps
A new Explore tab is taking the place of the current Trending tab on the site’s mobile applications. It offers shortcuts to destination sections, such as music, gaming, news, movies and shows, fashion and beauty, and learning.
The new YouTube Explore tab also includes “On the Rise” sections will appear before trending videos. Plus, the previous Trending tab will now enjoy its own section inside Explore.
Although it’s just now making its way out to wide release, the new Explore tab has actually been around since the company started testing it back in 2018. YouTube explains that its Trending tab is being replaced with a new and more robust Explore tab for both Android and iOS mobile apps:
“… with Explore, you not only have access to Trending videos, but also to destination pages for some popular content categories like Gaming, Music, Fashion & Beauty, Learning and more – all from one place.”
