Postmates is about to offer something for frugal-minded friends, a fee-free delivery option for groups, but with some key restrictions…
Founded in 2011 by Bastian Lehmann, Sean Plaice, and Sam Street, Postmates is a local goods courier delivery network. Like most of its peers, Postmates sometimes must rely on pricey fees to provide its service.
That will change, in-part, coming up, when it launches a new option called “Postmates Party.” It’s a fee-free feature, but it comes with some limitations.
Postmates Party Free Group Delivery Feature to Soon Debut
The new Postmates Party free group delivery option will allow people to order food and receive it separately. (The orders are sent out in batches but delivered individually to each person in the group.)
For such consideration or without incurring a fee, users will likely have to wait a bit longer for their meals to arrive.
The new Postmates Party free group delivery option will only be available in major cities in the US, and might not apply to restaurants. Although, it should include such favorites as Shake Shack, Blaze Pizza, and The Halal Guys.
Postmates says the option won’t be available all the time, either. Instead, it will activate the service during busy times, when multiple people order from the same place. So, it’s up to individual users to join a party to reap the benefits.
