Roku Shares its Top Picks for Family and Kids’ Content to Stream in the UK

During the coronavirus lock down and the ubiquitous COVID-19 quarantines, filling the days with some form of entertainment is necessary to maintain a sense of normalcy. That’s where streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, and Roku, come in really handy. But, finding the right content can present a real challenge because there are so many choices. Fortunately, Roku has shared its top picks for just such genres of movies and television shows.

Roku Highlights Top Family and Kids’ Content Channels

Working from home and homeschooling are realities for many families. With limited options for entertainment and distractions, streaming is one of the best ways to pass the time and even enjoy some family time together. Mike Duin of Roku explains:

“We know many parents are working hard to home school their kids, and keep them entertained, so we wanted to help you identify some great destinations for educational and kids’ entertainment on the Roku platform.”

Duin put together a list of five channels, available on Roku, that have some of the best family and kids’ content. Of them, three are free, and the other two are premium but have free trial periods to take advantage of for a limited time:

  • Disney+ is the first. It offers a seven-day free trial and is where viewers can find content from creators like Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. Some of the most popular titles are The Lion KingWreck-it Ralph, and Toy Story 4.
  • The Roku Channel. This is a free option and it’s where streamers can find addington BearBob the BuilderTeletubbiesBananas in Pyjamas, and Inspector Gadget.
  • Hopster. This is another premium channel which offers a thirty-day trial and is currently hosting Reading RainbowFranny’s FeetMonster Math Squad, and many more.
  • BBC iPlayer. Here’s yet another free option where families and kids can find Peter RabbitPostman Pat, DangerMouse, along with The GruffaloShaun The Sheep: The Movie, and Paddington 2.
  • ITV Hub. This channel is also free and it’s where viewers can find cartoons like Engie Benjy, The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants, and a collection of LEGO shorts including LEGO Marvel Superheroes, LEGO Jurrasic World and LEGO Ninjago.
