Sling TV is raising its subscription prices, and this increase targets sports content in the streaming services packages…
It’s time for Sling TV’s sports lovers to either shrug or gripe. That’s because the streaming service is raising its prices for its sports add-on options.
Sling TV Sports Add-On Package Price goes Up
With the price hike, the Sling Orange package subscribers will now pay $10 per month for the Sports Extra channel instead of just $5 per month, starting on August 1st.
Sling says the price increase for Sports Extra comes as the result of rising operating costs. There’s now more channels within Sports Extra, which include the NHL Network and NBA TV.
However, it isn’t all bad news. Sling now offers a new $20 Total TV Deal which offers eight Extras, including Sports. That deal likewise comes with 50 hours of cloud DVR recordings.
Sling isn’t the only entertainment service raising its prices. YouTube TV, PlayStation Vue, and DirecTV Now have also hiked their prices.
