Snapchat Users can Now Send Musical GIFs to One Another

A new Snapchat TuneMoji music GIFs option has been announced for users to send animations with backtracks to one another, but there’s one drawback…

Musical GIF provider TuneMoji has announced it’s partnered up with Snapchat. The team-up means people who use both apps, TuneMoji and Snapchat, can now send clips via Snap stories or inside chats.

TuneMoji animations add a music layer or spoken audio in a loop with GIFs. It’s app works similar to Giphy, with a searchable database. Users can find what they’re looking for with words, phrases, or even by emoji.

Once a TuneMoji user finds a musical GIF, he or she can select where to share it. (Snapchat is now an option.) The company makes this possible by its integration into the Snap Kit, a developer platform. Snap Kit debuted in June of this year. It gives devs the power to bring Snapchat core features to their own apps. However, it’s not without its limitations.

Although TuneMoji music GIFs are shareable via Snapchat, users can’t select and send the musical animations solely within Snapchat. Instead, users must have TuneMoji installed and send the music GIFs to Snapchat, making it a bit of a process.

TuneMoji CEO James Fabricant states the company is already at-work on closer integrations with Snapchat, as well as other messaging platforms.
