Spotify Releases a New Kids App for iOS and Android, Starting in Ireland

The newly released Spotify Kids app for Android and iOS debuts in Ireland and includes thousands of family-friendly music tracks…

Spotify is out with a new app for both iOS and Android called Spotify Kids. As one would guess, it’s dedicated to family-friendly content, boasting approximately 6,000 tracks.

Spotify Kids App Debuts in Ireland for iOS and Android

The new Spotify Kids contains titles curated by the editors at the popular music streaming service. For young ones, there are Disney soundtracks, songs about — what else — dinosaurs, along with familiar children’s stories.

Parents of older kids can set the app up for a more mature, but still PG rated experience, featuring songs from artists like Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Bruno Mars.

Regardless of age, Spotify Kids is supposed to deliver appropriate content. Basically, the requirements are no references to guns and/or violence. Additionally, selections change depending on region, based on what’s most popular in local markets.

To access it requires a Spotify Premium Family subscription, which costs $14.99 per month or €14.99 per month in Ireland. Each kid’s account counts toward the overall limit of six profiles per family plan.

Also, Spotify won’t share or sell listener data with third-parties. Instead, it will only use play history and favorites for internal uses.
