The Twitter Video Website Card debuted today, billed as an effective sales tool. The new ad format is, “a creative format that combines the power of video with the ability to drive users back to a site to learn more or take action in the moment,” the company explains.

The new ad format is an autoplay video equipped with a customizable headline. And, it expands to a larger view, along with a website preview. Ultimately, it directs viewers to the advertiser’s chosen page after tapping on it.
Although this format is familiar, Twitter says advertisers can easily optimize campaigns for different goals. These include: video views, website clicks, or awareness. For instance, a website might use the Video Website Card to introduce a new product. Setting a goal for awareness would suit that campaign.
Later on, the same product ad goal might change to website clicks. And, even to other goals. The new Twitter Video Website Card is now available to all advertisers worldwide beginning today.
