Verizon Call Filter Robocall Blocker Expands to All Customers

Verizon just Made a Big Change to How it Handles Unwanted Robocalls

Verizon is making its new Silence Junk Callers feature available to all its customers, and it’s even auto-enabled on iOS 14…

The ubiquity of robocalls is so pervasive, it’s difficult to quantify. Estimates by industry experts range up to nearly 60 billion last year alone. That figure is supposed to rise by a substantial 22 percent by the end of 2020, reaching as many as 73.2 billion. Fortunately, wireless carriers and phone manufactures alike are coming up with new ways to combat the problem.

Verizon Call Filter Robocall Blocker Expands to All Customers

Verizon has officially announced its new Silence Junk Callers feature. The tool is now available for free to all Verizon subscribers and it’s already automatically turned on within iOS 14. To ensure it’s up and running, just go to Settings > Phone > Call Blocking & Identification. Once enabled, it will protect against spam and junk calls. Verizon customers can also opt to download the Call Filter app to get even more protection against robocalls.

“Verizon continues to be an industry leader in protecting over 75 million customers from pesky robocalls, with over 7 billion calls and counting. And for the 10th consecutive month, there’s an industry-wide decline in the volume and frequency of robocalls that customers receive. This is due, in part, to Verizon’s continued efforts on behalf of customers within the network and application levels, including the rollout of new network technology in iOS 14 that automatically sends robocalls to voicemails for Verizon iOS customers.”
