Vudu is making it easier to rent movies with less trepidation, introducing a new 30-minute undo option, along with a price-match guarantee…
It’s a common disappointment — renting a flick only to realize several minutes in it’s just not a good choice. Many people simply choose to get their money’s worth by enduring the entire film. While others kick themselves and chalk the experience up to a few wasted bucks.
Now, Vudu has a solution for such situations a la Blockbuster — movie rental returns.
Vudu Introduces a New Movie Rental Refund Policy
Vudu now lets people undo their poor movie rental choices with a 30-minute grace period. Simply stream away as usual and if it’s not up to expectations, request a “redo.” Renters requesting a “redo” get a credit back for the original rental price.
Along with its new rental redo feature, comes a new price-match policy. It works just like it sounds. If there’s a cheaper option via Amazon or iTunes, just make a quick call and ask for a credit for the difference. The price-match period lasts 12 hours, so there’s limited time.
As for the movie rental redo option, it too, is limited — renters are allowed only four redos per month to prevent abuse of the policy.
