WhatsApp could be prepping for a few new features, as a deep dive into latest beta build reveals some interesting possibilities eminently arriving…
Currently, WhatsApp claims an impressive 2 billion users across the planet. Of those, approximately 1.6 billion use the messaging platform at least once a month. In February of this year alone, the mobile application was downloaded 96 million times. So, it would seem that it has all of the latest bells and whistles. But, that isn’t the case. However, this is slowly beginning to change.
WhatsApp Multi-Device Login Support Spotted in Recent Code Examination
A bit of code digging by the folks over at WABetaInfo reveals the platform is working to add multi-device logins, improved search, along with chat clearing and more. What’s more, these are present on both Android and iOS. Perhaps the first on the list is the most interesting, given it’s an option that’s highly desired by its users.
Presently, it’s only possible to run a single mobile device, along with a PC, or Mac, or web browser. That however, is the limit. While users can switch between these devices, they can only log into one at a time. Of course, this means there’s no seamless transition from one to another. If the new code stays, users will be able to use as many as four devices.
Now, that might change. And, it also looks like there’ll be more search filters, more specifically, search by date. Additionally, there’s an option to clear entire chat sessions, and an enhanced Storage Usage feature.
