WhatsApp shopping catalogs will soon start showing up in several companies as the Facebook subsidiary expands its ecommerce prowess…
Facebook is always looking for more sources of revenue. One area it’s been able to leverage is ecommerce. And, it’s already started the process with its subsidiary, WhatsApp.
WhatsApp Shopping Catalogs Start Rolling Out
The newest addition is a feature called Catalogs, debuting on WhatsApp Business. Through WhatsApp Catalog, businesses can share their products with WhatsApp users.
It’s an effort to give small businesses a more professional look on the platform. Catalogs will function just like mobile storefronts. The catalogs can provide people with important information, such as product images, prices, descriptions, as well as product codes.
WhatsApp writes on its official blog:
“Catalogs are a mobile storefront for businesses to showcase and share their goods so people can easily browse and discover something they would like to buy. Previously businesses had to send product photos one at a time and repeatedly provide information — now customers can see their full catalog right within WhatsApp. This makes business owners look more professional and keeps customers engaged in the chat without having to visit a website.”
WhatsApp Catalogs are currently rolling out in Brazil, Germany, India, Indonesia, Mexico, the UK, and the US.
