Windows 10 Your Phone app copy and paste support for Samsung devices debuts

Microsoft is Testing a Copy and Paste Function for the Windows 10 Phone App that Works with Samsung Devices

Microsoft is experimenting with a new feature for its Windows 10 Your Phone app that allows users to copy and paste with Samsung devices…

Like most tech companies, Microsoft routinely tests new features with a limited group of users before it rolls them out to the public (or kills them off). Right now Insider Preview members have access to a new cross-platform function that works with certain mobile devices.

Windows 10 Your Phone App Copy and Paste Support for Samsung Devices Debuts

Microsoft is working on a new copy and paste option for its Your Phone app that’s compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S20, 20+, S20 Ultra, or Z Flip handhelds. (PCs must be running Windows 10 version April 10, 2018 or newer.)

To try it out, go into Settings and toggle on “Cross-device copy and paste. That’s it. It should then work, either by using the familiar keyboard shortcuts, CTRL+C and CTRL+V commands, or by tapping and holding the phone screen.

Brandon LeBlanc, Senior Program Manager, Windows Insider Program writes on the official Microsoft Insider blog:

“Continuing our strong partnership with Samsung from last August, we’re excited to introduce exciting new features, which are now available on the latest Samsung Galaxy S20/S20+/S20 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip devices in select markets. You can enjoy copying and pasting text and images between your devices, black screen while in phone screen, Rich Communication Service messaging, and more!”
