YouTube on Desktop Now Lets People Watch Miniplayer Videos while Browsing

New YouTube miniplayer continuous play videos are here, running as people browse the site for more content to watch next or later…

In a twist on technology, a mobile feature comes to desktop. YouTube will add an option to watch videos in miniplayer mode while browsing through the library. The new feature is called “Miniplayer” and it’s currently making its way out to the entire platform.

To use the new YouTube Miniplayer, just hover over a video as it runs. Look for a small box-inside-box icon and click on it. The video playing will shrink and fall into the lower-right corner of the screen. Then, just browse the site as usual.

What’s important to note about the new function is that many of the controls remain accessible. These include Play/Pause, Seek, and Skip. Clicking on the “X” button or hitting the ESC key will dismiss the miniplayer. Or, just click on another video to exit it.
