YouTube Rewind 2018 just might become the most disliked video of all time, surpassing Justin Bieber’s “Baby,” which debuted eight years ago…
Toward the end of the calendar year, YouTube publishes a recap. It usually contains some of the biggest names in entertainment, sports, and so on. Most often, it garners plenty of views and little controversy. For instance, last year, it racked up 211 million views. While 2016 earned 96 million and 2015, 143 million. However, this year is decidedly different.
YouTube Rewind 2018 Earns more Dislikes than Most Hated Video of All Time
YouTube Rewind 2018, uploaded just four days ago, already has 96 million views, along with 2 million likes, and counting. But, it’s another number which really tells how the public is receiving it. Currently, there are 7.2 million dislikes and the sentiment doesn’t show any sign of subsiding.
This isn’t something easily dismissed because it’s well on its way to earn the unenviable spot of the most hated YouTube video of all time. Presently, Justin Bieber’s “Baby” video holds the title, with 9.7 million dislikes. Being available for such a short period, however, really speaks to its public scorn.
So, why such animosity over a yearly recap? Well, there are several answers. Some note the lack of YouTubers, others don’t care for the Fornite video game references, while still others complain it’s out-of-touch with regular users.
