YouTube TV continues to attract new customers who want easy access to traditional channels. But, it’s no longer working with Apple’s iTunes in supporting subscription services.
YouTube TV No Longer Supports iTunes Subscriptions
Only a few months ago, Google stopped letting new YouTube TV subscribers to sign up for the streaming service though Apple’s iTunes. This proved convenient fro iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV owners to subscribe to YouTube TV without having to manually add their billing information.
Now, on a support page, Google confirms it already removed the functionality back on June 27th. Going forward, any new members must sign-up through a Google account.
Although this does introduce a bit of an inconvenience, due to Apple’s iTune requirements, Google was forced to charge an extra $5 per month.
“This article applies to any YouTube TV members who signed up an iOS device before June 27, 2019. After that date, we no longer offer sign-up on iOS. Get in touch with YouTube TV Support for more information.”
